Ethiopian Airlines was among international carriers that recorded flight cancellations on routes serving Riyadh after a missile attack on King Khalid International Airport, the business outlet Birr Metrics reported on 11 October.
The attack killed at least 12 people and injured more than 300, according to the report, which said the cancellations disrupted air transport to the Saudi capital amid what it described as escalating regional security threats.
Birr Metrics named Ethiopian Airlines flight ET412 as one of the affected services.
The Abay Times has not independently verified the account, and no statement from Ethiopian Airlines or the Saudi authorities appears in the available evidence.
Ethiopian Airlines is the state-owned flag carrier and one of Africa's largest airlines. Last month it temporarily suspended scheduled flights to three other destinations: Addis Insight reported on 23 September that the airline had halted services to Mekelle, Axum and Shire, citing in a statement the "current situation in the Tigray region".
