An Ethiopian delegation led by National Bank of Ethiopia Governor Eyob Tekalign has arrived in Bangkok, Thailand, for the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, state-affiliated media reported on 12 October.
The delegation includes State Minister of Finance Tigist Fisseha and is taking part in the weeklong meetings, Fana Broadcasting reported.
Ethiopia and the World Bank have reviewed their longstanding development partnership and outlined priorities for the next phase of cooperation, according to Fana, with a focus on macroeconomic stability, private-sector growth, agricultural modernisation and sustainable infrastructure.
The Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) said the delegation's participation opens opportunities to advance Ethiopia's economic priorities and strengthen international development partnerships. The account comes from the state news agency ENA and the state-affiliated broadcaster Fana; The Abay Times could not independently verify it.

The meetings run from 12 to 18 October, Fana reported, with practical artificial intelligence, job creation, small-business financing and private investment in emerging markets among the main themes of the week's discussions on global development.
The National Bank of Ethiopia is the country's central bank. In July 2024 the IMF approved a four-year Extended Credit Facility for Ethiopia of about $3.4 billion.
