Local residents reported that on February 15th, federal forces began a campaign of disarmament, mass arrests, and physical assault against civilians in the Dawe Harawa district of the Oromia Special Zone, located in the Amhara state.
Further reports from residents alleged that a young man named Adam Mohammed was brutally beaten and killed by federal forces in front of his mother on the same day.
During a phone interview with a local farmer in Dawe Harawa, they reported that Amhara regional forces and Fano militias have been observed rallying and preparing for another round of attacks against the Oromo residents in the Oromia Special Zone. Sources indicated that large forces are being mobilized and prepared for attacks in districts such as Jile Dhumuga and Coqorso.
The ongoing conflict in the area has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians, displacement of thousands, and destruction of various institutions. With the situation becoming increasingly dire, residents are urgently calling for intervention to prevent further massacres.
